Update: Long overdue...

Over the last year I have been lucky/blessed to be pregnant and had a beautiful baby girl and we couldn't be more thrilled!! Little Natalie just hit 7 months old (already?!?!) and is thriving, happy, vibrant, and overall a giant baby <3

So, after a bit of a hiatus, things are back in full swing in the studio! It's going to be a full couple of months... I have work in The Bearded Lady's Jewel Box with the Metals Collective folks, we are also gearing up for a Retrospective show at MECA: Artist at Work Space, I have work going into the MECA Collect Sale... AND Nick Downing  and I are also doing the Yarmouth Clam Festival the 3rd weekend in July.  Can we say HOLY MOLY! Check out the events page for more details on all of these.

Ps, you won't want to miss the Clam Festival, a new signature honeycomb line is debuting!:)

Niche Award Winner! 2016:)

"The NICHE Awards began in 1989 to recognize the outstanding creative achievements of American craft artists who produce work for craft galleries and retail stores. Judging is based on three main criteria. Technical excellence, both in surface design and form, market viability, and a distinct quality of unique, original and creative thought"

"Only 180 entries our of more than 1,600 submissions were named as finalist in this years competition." There are 5 finalists per category that were announced in November and the awards ceremony was held January 16, 2016. My Wasp Ring (pictured below) was select as the *winner* of the silver category:)

New Custom Project

I've had the pleasure of working on a special 50th birthday custom project this spring.  Her husband grew up collecting sand dollars wanted to incorporate them with her favorite color, red.  I constructed 100 tiny sand dollars, strung them together with garnets set intermittently in the sand dollar chain.  Here are some process shots.

Check out the completed piece in the Custom section of my website!

Well, it sure has been a while:)  I've been busy with a few custom orders, getting work shipped out to Carega Gallery,  and getting new work to the photographer in order to launch a new collection.  I'll keep you posted as soon as I can share it!  Sit tight and stay tuned:)

Evolution of design

I'm coming into my 4th year of designing a production line.  I've devoted exponentially more time each year to designing/creating and my goal is to spend even more time in the studio in 2014.   When talking to people about my work this last year I found myself showing people which designs my body of work grew from.  My work has branched out from 2 core designs.

It fascinates me to see the family that has branched out from these two tree trunks of design.  And I'm BEYOND excited to see what comes next:)  Here is to 2014 and the unknown designs it will bring!  Stay tuned!!

Thank You!

2013 was a fantastic year!  It's been a whirlwind of fresh designing, marketing, and making!  I couldn't have done it without each and every one of you!  Thank you for supporting your local artists:) There are lots of exciting things on the horizon for 2014!  In February, a group of metal smiths will be putting on an absinthe spoon show at the Bar of Chocolate here in Portland, ME. (Details coming soon!)  In March I will be participating in the New England Made Wholesale Show which is only open to businesses hunting for the latest and greatest products for their retail stores!  Stay tuned for more updates!
